Plumbing is a highly sought after industry for homeowners and businesses alike, but only those holding a valid plumbing license can work in this satisfying career. With a high school diploma and a vocational school or apprenticeship, you can quickly gain your plumbing license and then decide if you want to go self-employed or work for a larger company.
The exam required to get a plumbing license is not an easy one. Many people fail to pass it on their first or second try, so it is important to remember that studying for the plumbing license exam is necessary. The plumbing license exam is broken into seven parts:

2. Rough Plumbing
3. Installation/Finish Plumbing
4. Testing/Codes
5. Repair Jobs/Troubleshooting
6. Remodeling Jobs
7. Hazardous Materials/Safety
Usually, the section on project planning is worth the most points, but in general every section plays an important part in the final exam grade for a plumbing license. Failing even one section can cause you to fail the plumbing license exam and require retesting in the future.
Questions on the plumbing license exam covers materials such as how large a septic system on a three-bedroom house must be to meet codes. Questions also cover how to bend copper tubing, how to connect piping to sewage systems, and what the plumbing codes are for your state. There are dozens of questions on the plumbing license exam, and many who pass the exam will say you should not leave any question unanswered. It’s better to guess when you are unsure and hope you get the answer right.
